Job Description
CNN Robotics is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can independently handle complete mechanical system design of robotics cells, special purpose machines, and industrial automation solutions. The candidate should manage the design lifecycle from concept development to manufacturing drawings and participate in Design Approval Process discussions with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design and develop complete mechanical systems for robotics cells and SPM machines.
- Create automation concepts and system layouts based on customer requirements.
- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials, and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Lead mechanical design activities for automation turnkey projects.
- Participate in Design Approval Process meetings with customers.
- Coordinate with controls, electrical, and project teams for system integration.
- Support assembly, trials, and debugging during machine build stage.
- Implement design improvements, cost optimization, and standardization.
Requirements
- 6 - 8 years experience in mechanical design for robotics systems, automation equipment, or SPM machines.
- Bachelor degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of machine design for industrial automation systems.
- Ability to independently handle complete system design of robotics cells and SPM.
- Hands-on experience in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Good understanding of pneumatic systems, automation mechanisms, and material handling.
- Experience in customer design discussions and DAP meetings.
- Knowledge of robotics integration, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, machine safety standards, and PLC based automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and ownership skills.
