- Read and understand engineering drawings, materials, tolerances and manufacturing requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality and delivery.
- Handle RFQs, quotation comparison, should-cost analysis, negotiation and supplier finalization.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC/VMC, turning, milling, grinding, laser cutting, bending and welding.
- Negotiate pricing, lead time, payment terms and other commercial conditions.
- Follow up and expedite critical parts at supplier locations to support on-time project delivery.
- Develop alternate suppliers and support cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Quality, Stores and Supply Chain teams.
- Maintain procurement activities, supplier information, purchase orders and project data in ERP systems.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Strong experience in mechanical procurement and tooling procurement.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Knowledge of CNC/VMC, turning, milling, grinding, fabrication, sheet metal, laser cutting, bending and welding processes.
- Experience in supplier development, supplier evaluation and vendor management.
- Strong RFQ comparison, costing, negotiation and commercial skills.
- Experience in project procurement and supplier expediting.
- Working knowledge of ERP-based procurement processes.
- Experience in Industrial Automation, Machine Building, SPM, Robotics, Automotive or Precision Engineering is preferred.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on technically challenging industrial automation and machine-building projects.
- Exposure to mechanical components, tooling, precision engineering and supplier development.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Projects, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
- Professional environment focused on engineering quality and project delivery.
