Job Description
CNN Robotics is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead mechanical design and engineering activities for automation projects. The role requires strong experience in industrial automation, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), mechanical design and cross-functional project coordination.
The Design Manager will work closely with engineering, automation, project management and customers to develop practical and reliable automation solutions from concept through design approval and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical design activities for automation and SPM projects.
- Develop and review mechanical concepts, layouts and engineering designs.
- Coordinate with Controls/Automation and Project teams for integrated machine development.
- Review 2D/3D designs, manufacturing drawings, BOMs and engineering documentation.
- Support customer discussions, technical presentations and Design Approval Processes (DAP).
- Guide the design team in solving complex mechanical and automation requirements.
- Ensure designs meet project requirements, functionality and manufacturing feasibility.
- Support engineering changes, design reviews and project execution.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical design within the automation industry.
- Strong experience with Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and industrial automation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering practices.
- Experience in leading design teams and coordinating with cross-functional departments.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD design and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and customer communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
